The Little Things Blog Post by Blythe Rowe
Energetic and sharp as a tack. Two ways that I feel sum up the smart and sassy Blythe Rowe. We met around three years ago and I could see pretty fast Blythe was on a mission. She has succeeded in her vision to highlight and help counter the destructive cycle of bullying, blaming and bludging in workplaces across the country – through her book of a similar name and roadshow of training courses in the corporate and government sector. Blythe is likely to keep raising the bar in whatever she takes on next. And that is why she is starring here.
The Little Things Interview
Describe yourself in one word: energetic
When do you work best – morning, afternoon or night?
Late at night (unfortunately)
What is your personal passion outside work? Travel and dancing
Exercise-wise, do you prefer to sweat, stretch or strengthen your body? I love all three – at the moment I am loving ‘Xtend-barre’, which is really strengthening and stretching (think ballet on steroids)
How do you define success? Success at this stage in my life is ultimately all about raising two confident, kind girls who are ready to take on the world. Who know that they are unconditionally loved and together as a family we experience and love life. In terms of my biz, success is making a difference – whether it be to one person’s day, career or life or to an overall team or organisation.
What does it for you most? Geez, now we are getting personal (LOL)! Overall I think I am all about freedom. Freedom to have fun, freedom to live life and run a biz on my terms. I am one of those annoying people if you tell me what to do, I will do the opposite, so freedom does it for me!
What’s your secret weapon to getting things done? Setting a crazy deadline and then having to stick to it – otherwise I will leave things to the last minute every time.
Best communicator you know – living or deceased – and why? My brother Adam Driussi who runs his own very successful business (Quantium) is a great communicator – passionate, no bullsh@t and from the heart. Which is a rare trait from a genius actuary.
Your favourite quote: “The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil but by those who watch on and don’t do anything” Albert Einstein.
